April 19, 2026 – Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Colorado — The Arsenal is home to bison, deer, coyotes, hawks, eagles and countless prairie dogs…and one lone cow elk. I first spotted her a few weeks ago. She was far off in the distance. Far enough off that even through my biggest lens I wasn’t 100% sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. Later, I stopped by the visitor center and asked. They confirmed what I saw. They said she just showed up one day.
