April 19, 2026 – Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Colorado — I was chatting with someone on Instagram, and they asked me when the bison started giving birth. I wasn’t sure. I looked through my old photos and was able to come up with a range of about six weeks. I finally came across a post on Facebook saying that the first calves were born a few days ago. I headed out there over the weekend and found this newborn and his\her mother.
